Principles of Scot Wood Work

We believe that Scottish wood is as good as any in the world and that is what we specialise in and promote, but we come across a lot of timber that would otherwise be scrapped that comes from all over the world and most of this is of excellent quality.

Because deforestation and reforestation are such contentious issues both here and globally we've chosen to incorporate these woods now and again, here and there, and we give a minimum of 10 percent of each sale to help sponsor a training workshop in Nicaragua.

Good Scottish wood is actually quite scarce and we try not to waste any. Small shakes and cracks are taken out with little bits of exotic woods and fossils from around the world. We believe this adds character and makes every piece of furniture completely unique.

We are also involved in promoting tree planting initiatives in Scotland including running tree planting days with local school children.

We also make the best bread in the world.
